Allow a members only site
plannedI would like to have a site that only members that I approve can view the suggestions. The application has many competitors who would likely come to view the suggestions and steal them if they were available to everyone. We're going to roll out the ability to password protect pages shortly and go from there.

OpenID user authentication
planned... would allow those sites who use OpenID to directly correlate their users with their suggestions, and other neato stuff. We're planning to implement OpenID using clickpass.com some day soon.

make it possible to "star" suggestions
plannedI would like to be able to "star" certain suggestions that I want to remember (if I have no more votes but want to keep tabs on interesting suggestions). -

Allow private reskin (paid) usage integrated into other site
Allow for the creation of suggestions from within another site (mashup?). Give method to pass userid from this "parent" site to identify the suggestor. Allow simple restyle of UserSuggest to match "parent" site. -

Be able to vote from within the widget
Don't force people to come to the page to submit a vote. They're on my site, I'd like to keep them there. -

Offer a (paid?) API
This would be very easy to offer if the system is already RESTful - and I suspect, given your affiliation with Rails & ActiveScaffold, that may be a given. Would be a simple matter of supplying a "How-to" page to explain which resources are available and how each resource relates to the othersrestful indeed, though we haven't add json/xml responses yet. if this idea gains some more traction we'll have to prioritize that!

allow negative votes?
sometimes, especially in cases where there's a lot of traffic on a suggestion, allowing someone to vote *against* something might be worthwhile. Obviously negative votes should still count against the user's vote total (except as a positive subtraction, if you know what I mean... ;)), and to avoid slashdot-style battles, perhaps setting the maximum negative vote to -1 would be a good idea. -

Allow attachements with a request
Pictures say more than a 1000 words. Allow users to attach screenshots with a request -

Member site based authentication
Allow a member site with its own authentication system pass an authentication token when linking to UserVoice, so that registered users of a web application like SlimTimer won't have to register again for UserVoice. -

allow adding admins that don't have accounts yet
plannedUV should send them an invite email -

differentiate between bugs and features
Right now, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to filter what I'm looking at in terms of differentiating between bugs and features. Such a differentiation is important if you are running a real, production web site.Hmm, on the one hand we want users to prioritize bugs vs features in the same list, but on the other hand many admins will want to take care of bugs before they get to be too big an issue.

Email notifications for new topics/feedback
startedAdd options to enable/disable email notification on new topics or feedbacks for sites you are an admin for. I understand there is a feed but I don't think every site owner will want to have to check the feed. I personally would prefer email notifications. -

Allow admins to set number of votes
To allow for broader suggestions or longer voting times, an admin could grant users more votes. Similarly, to focus on just a few suggestions or to make quick decisions, the admin could reduce the number of votes. -

Customizable blog widget
I'd love to change the look and the wording of the blog widget to integrate it in a better way! What about non-English-speaking users? At least the Headline »Top User Suggestions« and the link »Cast your votes« should be customizable. -

Build a Wordpress Widget
I do not want to edit any of the HTML of my Wordpress blog. I really would like User Voice to come out with a native wordpress widget. -

Change the name from Customer Feedback to User Feedback
The word customer creates a default (and often not too warm) relationship. I think 'User' is more considerate of your...well..users.We are looking into this as either an alternative, or flat out change over. It would make sense in that this tool is for the "Users" and then theirs that whole name of our company thing... :)

Tell us which will be the cost after Beta.
Let us know which will be the cost of your app after beta. We're working on refining our pricing model and will open it up for feedback sometime soon. I can tell you that we'll be a freemium service, so there'll be a free plan that covers most usage, and that the pricing will be competitive with other business apps (ex: Basecamp).

Confusing with limit on votes
So what do you do when you hit your limit? It shows a warning but doesn't tell you what you can do about it. That is frustrating. I like the limit, but then I hate it too. What if someone wants to be really active and give a lot of feedback? I want that too. -

Add A "Compliment" Section - Say What's Right About Product
What if a user likes something, such as - "Hey, I love your new logo!" Can there be a place for that? Perhaps on the right sidebar? Also - it should not cost 'Votes' to do so. It's always a good idea to say what is working too :-) -

facebook/ Google IG integration
Most of the links people get nowadays are from social bookmarking sites like delicious or Digg or Google IG rss feeds and some such, or posted stories from facebook. having handy widgets not only makes it convenient, on a social website, the message can be shared and spread fast. -

Show completed statistics on each page
We would like to show to our users that we are actually executing on suggestions. It would be nice to have a clear statistics on the top right of each suggestion page: Number of (a) suggestions, (b) completed, and (c) planned. -

return to correct place from viewing comments
plannedOk, you've declined to allowing viewing comments in-line, even though for most reasonable numbers of comments it's completely feasible. At least make it possible to quickly return to the same place in the suggestion list we started at, so that after viewing comments on the 50th suggestion we don't have to scroll back down from the top of the suggestion list. That is excruciating! That's a very good point. It's been annoying me as well.

Allow categorization of suggestions
It will be nice to organize the suggestions either using something lightweight like tags or something like categories created by an admin. -

Add categories
Give Admins the ability to create categories the users can select. -

export of data
to make use of this tool, we would need to be able to keep the info our users give us for safekeeping, regardless of the availability of this service. Best would be to export the whole database and back it up in our own system. -

allow embedding in customer web site
plannedWe would like to embed the user voice UI in our site UI. -

allow anonymous voting (w/ip and common pw, token)
i can see why uservoice want users to register, but it would lower the treshold for getting to know this tool if a small group of users, e.g., a choir, a club, etc, could have a password or token in a url from their intranet and be allowed to vote anonymously with permanent votes, maybe coupled with ip tracking to separate different users. We already allow people to vote without signing up, but we expire their votes in a week if they don't (to discourage gaming).

Create specific feedback sections
Allow customers to add a business category to the feedback. (website, product, hours of operation, service, price value, etc) -

Support per-user vote limits
I would like to reward users with more votes: - those that are members for sometime - those that fill in some demographic information (possibly only visible to admins) - those who invite other users (and the users vote on our site) -

Use same architecture to create community FAQ
As a start up, I want to hear new ideas, but I also want to build a repository of use case FAQ. We launched, and feedback is coming in three categories: 1) bugs - 2) where is / how do I? (where it's there, it's just too complicated or not obvious enough) 3) it would be great if it . . . [feature additions] The architecture you currently have would be awesome for all three if we could categorize them as admin (or community, with admin override) and have #2 types build a search able FAQ section. -

I'd like to browse a list of sites to which I can make suggestions. This will come as we get closer to the public launch

Give users the ability to choose how many to display on blog
Right now, there's only the ability to show the top 3. It would be nice if you could arbitrarily choose how many ever I wanted to display instead of being constrained to your static number (3). -

localization
I would definitely use uservoice if admins can either customize the UI, or the displayed text. -

Provide statistics
Would be nice if you could provide some kind of statistics for my uservoice page. I have no clue how many people are actually visiting. Just a daily pageview count will do for starters. If you login (and are an admin) you'll see a dashboard at the top with stats on users, ideas and votes. We'll be adding to this in the future.

Make the code for the feedback widget XHTML compliant
Apparently, the ampersand sign before "color" prevents validation. Are you sure? It seems odd that a valid URL would fail validation (whatever validation is worth/means any more)

One admin account for all pages
If I create a Uservoice page from uservoice.com/account/new while signed in, it doesn't get added to my list of pages on the myuservoicepage.uservoice.com "Account Admin Tab" at top. I suggest that it'd be nice to have all my "pages" that I've created on one page, or in tab. In addition it'd be nice to add admins to just some "pages" and not all from that same location. If you go up to the 'Account Admin' dashboard at the top of the page you can create more pages. The other pages don't show up because you're create whole new accounts and not just pages on an existing account. The latter is preferred though we'll do more to support the former soon.

Internet Explorer 7 operation not permitted
We had to remove Uservoice implementation due to a severe bug caused by invalid (?) interaction with DOM objects. Upon inserting uservoice javascript in <head> element of our page(s) we had reports of Internet Explorer crashing with 'Operation not permitted' error. Check following for more information: http://www.garyharan.com/index.php/2008/04/22/internet-explorer-cannot-open-the-internet-site-operation-aborted/ I assume this /might/ be resolved if we put script after </body> tag, but IMHO I'm not sure if this interaction screwes something else up, so this is not going on production until there are some kind of QA on your side. Please advise, great service by the way :). Thank you. - Aleksey Korzun
