General: Fix idea status menu [is now started]

The menu, if activated on a suggestion near the bottom of the page, is cut off by the browser port/status bar. Image example here: http://img.skitch.com/20080518-xwwemb1qidqx2afau4rn5chtxq.jpg As you can see, the 'deleted' menu links are not accessible as the menu disappears below the bottom of the browser view port. This is on Firefox 3 on Mac OSX.

when clicking on an "Set Status/Close/Delete" button for the last idea on the page the menu is not fully visible. Positions "other" and "spam" are below the end of the page and they are not accessible. And the menu is under the "Copyright.... " bar Firefox 2, Windows

It seems that the total number of votes should be listed somewhere. For example, if the total votes cast for a given site or product is 100,000+ that's a cool statistic showing interest that isn't currently displayed (i think).

GetSatisfaction has pictures of happy people and cupcakes everywhere. These things make me happy and more likely to post constructive comments. I'm not saying cupcakes are the way, but they are pretty awesome.

I also like constructive comments. What I've heard from Satisfaction is that constructive feedback is more the result of a responsive company, as evidenced by their Facebook forum.

My thoughts? Asking for concrete ideas instead of providing a wide-open forum is a huge step towards getting constructive (even if not always positive) feedback from teh users.

What do you all think?

A followup to http://uservoice.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/10368 I do have a Gravatar associated with my email address see however your default icon is still being displayed here . The problem is that in the img src you specify "default=" while instead you should use "d=". See , Step 5. Thanks for adding Gravatars though. They're sweet!

Step 5 says that it can be either: 'default' or 'd'. And I'm seeing your gravatar when I visit your profile page. Hmm, what browser are you using?

I tried to change my password, but whenever I try logging in with my new password, it says "Login failed. Please try again." Can someone please confirm that they can actually change their password and log in with their new password??? I've tried it many times and am getting frustrated. The Forget your Password feature works great, but I don't want to be stuck using a temporary logins permanently!

So - I'm having some trouble recreating the problem. My steps: "losing" my password, getting a login link, changing my password to something completely new, logging out, and logging back in with my new password.

Any ideas?

So what do you do when you hit your limit? It shows a warning but doesn't tell you what you can do about it. That is frustrating. I like the limit, but then I hate it too. What if someone wants to be really active and give a lot of feedback? I want that too.

Keep in mind - once suggestions are placed into a "planned" mode, votes are redistributed back to their users. If a company is diligent about providing solutions to User submissions, then votes can also stay in play.

The "feedback" button that I introduced into my site is nicely adapted to the colour scheme of the site, except when you mouse over it. That blue doesn't turn up anywhere else. Could you introduce another variable to the script that allows to adapt that colour, too?

When using the widget on a page with a flash video (blockstack.tv, Firefox 2) the widget causes a white band to appear across the flash when aligned right. Even when aligned left, when you click the feedback tab the pop-up appears under the flash video, making it unusable. I'd love to use this feature but it's not working right now.

Currently there's no way to even mark a word as bold or italic. Well, I guess you could make it ALL-CAPS (lame) or put something *around* it, but somehow both of those just seem somehow kludgey... I hate gratuitous colors and font-size changes as much as the next guy, but SOME formatting actually helps communicate better. How about adding support for at least some very simple markup like Markdown or Textile...?

some project/companies would have free and paid users, and would give more weight to the votes of their paid users, this could be attained with previous suggestions of 'admins setting a user vote count', but my idea is: let, for the projects that opt in only, the creation of a vote market, clients buy X extra votes for the project (limits set by the project admin) uservoice gets a %, the admin gets the fairer share as donation, the paying client gets the bought extra votes, everybody is happy. such votes would not come back once used (or maybe for a premium price one could buy re-usable votes) surely things would have to be controlled in a way to avoid worst case cenarios such as a single client ompletely monopolizing a project uservoice's page, but I am pretty sure that some kind of balance can be achieved.

What if a user likes something, such as - "Hey, I love your new logo!" Can there be a place for that? Perhaps on the right sidebar? Also - it should not cost 'Votes' to do so. It's always a good idea to say what is working too :-)

Right now, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to filter what I'm looking at in terms of differentiating between bugs and features. Such a differentiation is important if you are running a real, production web site.
