allow negative votes? under review
sometimes, especially in cases where there's a lot of traffic on a suggestion, allowing someone to vote *against* something might be worthwhile.

We'll continue this healthy discussion but our first step will be to allow simple up/down voting on ideas so it's easier to see dissenting opinions. If *IF* we experimented with downvotes it would most likely cost you votes and/or not affect the vote count but rather a secondary score for controversy (cluing the admin in to check out the discussion thread).

return my available votes when idea becomes "planned" or "started" under review
Once the idea moves to "planned", I should get my votes back. The suggestion was good enough to get planned, so free up my votes for another good suggestion, don't make me wait on whatever the implementation schedule turns out to be...
One aspect to consider is that once votes are returned, the voting is closed. Many companies/organizations (ourselves included) might want to indicate that they have 'planned' to act upon the feedback, but are still interested in allowing the community to help set priority for that feedback with their votes. For this reason, we are more likely to return the votes once the feedback has been marked as "started". This is still under review, so we welcome your comments. Make it easier for newer suggestions to rise in popularity started
Right now the order in which suggestions are displayed is based solely on how many votes they have ACCUMULATED. Allow tagging of suggestions planned
It will be nice to organize the suggestions either using something lightweight like tags or something like categories created by an admin.

Add A "Compliment" Section - Say What's Right About Product under review
What if a user likes something, such as - "Hey, I love your new logo!" Can there be a place for that? Perhaps on the right sidebar? Also - it should not cost 'Votes' to do so.
It's always a good idea to say what is working too :-)

Allow us to change "Submit a bug" to "Leave a comment" planned
I run a blog, not a software app. I don't have bugs. I don't want "submit a bug" to be so prominent in the popup. it won't be relevent to my site or make sense to my readers.
Why not allow us to change the text that is displayed there to something else, utilizing the same functionality?

Ask for email without requiring sign-up for ideas planned
Currently ides and votes can be anonymous or authenticated requiring sign-in. Can we add a middle ground (like most blog comments) where folks can leave an email and URL but not require a full sign-in? Use contact form instead of displaying email address. planned
I dislike simply displaying an email at the bottom of a page to contact for various reasons. Having a standard contact form would help me keep everything organized, and prevent not providing any useful information in a standard email.
We're going to allow a way for you specify a URL to send people to for help/support. That's first. Then we'll be looking at contact forms next.

Customizable blog widget
I'd love to change the look and the wording of the blog widget to integrate it in a better way! What about non-English-speaking users? At least the Headline »Top User Suggestions« and the link »Cast your votes« should be customizable.

Confusing with limit on votes
So what do you do when you hit your limit? It shows a warning but doesn't tell you what you can do about it. That is frustrating. I like the limit, but then I hate it too. What if someone wants to be really active and give a lot of feedback? I want that too.

Can't find declined ideas
Once an idea is declined, it's much harder to locate. I initially thought http://stackoverflow.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/19366 was deleted without response since it disappeared off of my profile page. Kinda feels like it was ignored completely. Which sucks.

Reward activity with more votes. under review
Users could accumulate, possibly controllable by an admin preference, more votes based on how often they comment on suggestions or submit new suggestions. This way active users could be rewarded for their efforts.
We are definitely interested in this suggestion. It has implications for several different functions on the site, so would require a bit of rework, and we intend to do some very intentional planning on this front.

Support per-user vote limits planned
I would like to reward users with more votes:
- those that are members for sometime
- those that fill in some demographic information (possibly only visible to admins)
- those who invite other users (and the users vote on our site)This is feature we are considering for a paid version of UserVoice.
